The Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is a tropical tree widely touted for it's many nutritional benefits. It also has certain mosquito control uses as larvicide and repellent.
Seeds were bought from the internet and the sprouting rate is very good. Two were grown in 4 inch pots with potting soil and one directly in my garden (alkaline soil). It grew to more than 10 feet with a slender trunk:
Planting Instructions here. I provided shade during the brutal over-100 F degrees summer for the containers. I'll be moving the pots indoors for the winter but leaving the tree on the ground after winterizing per this website.
Even if it fails to survive winter, I'll consider it a beautiful accent annual tree. And I had quite a few smoothies from it already.
